2001
Three IT
professionals have a vision - and Skyscanner is born.
2002
Version 1
is released and the public and airlines are quick to
see the benefits of this new approach to flight
search.
2003
Skyscanner starts to make its name in the press and
employee number 1 joins to assist with site
development.
2004
The
Edinburgh office is opened and Poland follows
shortly after. The site too goes international with
the first multi-language version launched.
2005
Version 2
of the site was launched winning various web awards.
2006
The team
grows to include dedicated sales and marketing to
spread the word.
2007
The
original three with a vision has become a team with
a mission to show EVERY COMMERCIAL FLIGHT in the
world. Our focus is on being usable, fast and
authoritative. With a major funding investment from
Scottish Equity
Partners (SEP) and over 3 million visitors per
month the future looks even stronger.
